Our Coaches

The Greenwood Skating Club's CanSkate program is delivered by Cheryle Gaston and Ann Young, two Skate Canada Professional Coaches with a total of 50+ years of experience. Trained, volunteer, program assistants help ensure the success of this program. Registration includes 60 minutes of professional instruction per week.

CanSkate456/Junior StarSkate. Cheryle Gaston, Ann Young and Karyn Brown will guide skaters through the final stages of the CanSkate program and introduce them to figure skating in a group lesson setting intended to provide skaters with challenges and fun. Registration includes 70 minutes of professional group instruction per week plus 25 minutes of synchro. 

StarSkate A/B (Senior/Intermediate StarSkaters).  Private/Semi-Private/ Group lesson instruction arranged by parent directly with coach of choice. Registration includes 35 minutes of professional group instruction per week.

Philosophy : I think figure skating is one of the best sports available in our area. The sense of freedom it gives you is amazing - we can truly fly. Everyone should learn how to skate and it should be fun to learn!!

I like that skating teaches young people how to set goals for themselves and find the means to achieve those goals and I'm proud to be part of the process.
